Sauk County Collision Results in Injuries to Three

A recent Sauk County traffic accident led to injuries for three different people involved, including one who was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The wreck, which occurred about 7:30 p.m. on a Saturday night, involved a pick-up truck traveling east on Highway 33. The eastbound truck crossed the center line of the highway and hit a westbound SUV head-on. Both drivers were taken by helicopter to an area hospital, while an infant who had been riding as the only other occupant of the pick-up truck also went to a local medical center for evaluation. The pick-up driver reportedly sustained serious injuries, whereas the SUV driver reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries.

According to statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, traffic crashes remain a primary public safety issue in Sauk County, Wisconsin.
